Eskmuthe Rowing Club

Come Row with Us

WELCOME TO THE ESKMUTHE ROWING CLUB

Eskmuthe Rowing Club was established in 2013 to build, row and race St Ayles skiffs from its base at Fisherrow Harbour - as part of the growing coastal rowing community across Scotland and beyond.

The club was named Eskmuthe ('mouth of the Esk') to reflect the meeting-point of the two historic communities of Musselburgh and Fisherrow.

Our first boat Honesty - named after the Honest Toun of Musselburgh - was launched in August 2013. The second boat, Steedie Falconer, named after one of Fisherrow's last-surviving fishwives, was launched in May 2015. The ceremony was attended by three generations of Steedie's family. Steedie herself died at the same time the boat was being constructed, aged 95 - by complete chance, the same hull number given to the boat by Scottish Coastal Rowing.

Eskmuthe members, and their boats, have travelled all across Scotland, to the north of England and the Netherlands on its rowing adventures.

Everyone is welcome to come and try rowing with our friendly community club.
